U-POL REFACE can be applied to the following - • Bare metal. (*) • Polyester putties and bodyfillers. • Fiberglass and SMC. • Fully cured paint surfaces. * Note: REFACE is not recommended for use over Aluminum, Galvanized (Zinc coated) or etch primers. Thoroughly clean and degrease surface with a suitable degreaser. Sand with 80 grit paper for bare metal or 220 grit for painted surfaces. Re-clean and dry.

Hardener
Add U-POL REFACE hardener at 5 parts per 100 by volume or 3% by weight. Mix thoroughly. Only mix amount required for immediate work. Never return unused mixed product to the can.

Application
Stir well before use. Minimum recommended working temperature is 50ºF. Application with a gravity fed gun is preferable, though a suction gun will suffice. Use a 2mm-3mm fluid tip. Hold gun 6-8 ins from panel. Layers may be built up wet on wet, but 5-10 minutes between coats is recommended.

Pot life 45-60 minutes at 70ºF Reducers Reducing is not recommended.

Use lacquer thinners or similar proprietary products to clean gun. Build and pressure 2-3 spray cycles of several layers will give a very high build.

At a pressure of 40-50 PSI, each pass will give a build of approximately 5-7 MIL.

Drying time 2-3 hours at 70ºF or 30 mins at 140ºF. Drying time is dependent upon film thickness, humidity and temperature.

Over-painting Dry sand, clean and dry thoroughly, U-POL REFACE may then be overcoated with most primers and paint systems. A non sanding sealer is necessary if used in damp climatic conditions.
